The faster overall travel speed meant that WPs are less of a necessity for players who need to get from A to B quickly, and as a result the amount of WPs in PoF and LS4 maps is significantly reduced, which in turn encourages the player to engage in the explorative gameplay. I felt like I absolutely have to rush to get the flying mounts in order to not get frustrated with the extreme verticality throughout the maps. This goes for all of them since Heart of Thorns has been released.
This can easily be factored in as a 33% increase, or 391.02 u/s. Bringing in their own research, they settled on 392 u/s as the baseline on-foot movement speed for the purpose of this test. So if. 392 u/s = Distance traveled ÷ Travel time on foot (with 100% Swiftness) whereas. Mount speed = That same distance ÷ Travel time on the mount.
The mount is definitely worth it as it's the best thing I have ever got in this game. It's a complete game changer when fully mastered, and the people that act like it isn't great probably just don't correctly learn how to use it because I too thought the mount was mediocre when I first tried the borrowed one in dragonfall.
Also, Im not sure if its possible without owning PoF, perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. Someone else who knows might wanna answer. The good thing with owning s4, aside from Skyscale, is the rollerbeetle mount, a legendary trinket, and one of the best maps for farming gold/ascended accessories. Totally worth it.
